The Power Plant Task Force was created by Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 119-04 to be the ongoing successor to the Potrero Power Plant Citizens Advisory Task Force (Resolution 362-99). Originally charged with providing the City with input regarding the Southern Company's (Mirant) purchase of the Potrero Power Plant, the Potrero Power Plant Task Force monitored the status of the Southern Company's Application for Certification to the California Energy Commission (CEC) and reported on the ramifications of increased generation.
